Wanderer Sailplane Crash and Rebuild

I crashed my beautiful plane, then rebuilt it better than new.

My beautiful plane before the crash. Here it was at the start of a windy day on a rocky hill.

Crash site. Minutes later, tragedy strikes.

The rebuild begins...

Right wing ribs repaired. Right wing MonoKote repair. Right wing (underside) MonoKote repair. Main spar repaired. Main spar repaired. Secondary spar, leading and trailing edges repaired. Secondary spar, leading and trailing edges repaired. Ribs in place and gusseted. Center-of-wing balsa sheeting restored. Wing almost ready to be covered. The nose broke off. The post-impact crater looked like Mt. St. Helens. Wing and nose repaired and recovered. The fabulous "opposite" colors remind me to be more careful while flying. The repair work is done and the Wanderer is ready to fly again.
